Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026. This policy explains what information CodeAtlas collects when you visit, and how it's used.
The short version
CodeAtlas doesn't require an account, doesn't ask you to submit personal information to read any lesson, and doesn't run its own user database. The site is static — every course and lesson is a plain page. Where this policy gets more detailed is around cookies and third-party advertising, covered below.
Information we collect
CodeAtlas itself does not collect names, email addresses, or account information, because there's no sign-up, comment system, or login anywhere on the site. If you email us directly (see Contact), we'll have whatever you choose to include in that email — we use it only to reply to you, and don't add it to any mailing list without your separate, explicit consent.
Some lessons include interactive, in-browser code editors (for HTML, CSS, and JavaScript). Anything you type into one of these runs entirely inside your own browser to render the preview shown on the page — it is never transmitted to CodeAtlas or stored anywhere.
Cookies and advertising
CodeAtlas displays advertising through Google AdSense, which helps cover the cost of running the site. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites, and to measure ad performance. This is standard for AdSense-supported sites and is governed by Google's own policies, not by CodeAtlas directly.

- You can opt out of personalized advertising, or see and adjust the ad settings tied to your Google account, at adssettings.google.com.
- Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies directly in their settings, though doing so may affect how ads (or other parts of the web) display.
We may also use privacy-respecting analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand in aggregate which lessons are read and how the site is used, so we can improve it. Any such analytics data is aggregated and not used to personally identify individual visitors by CodeAtlas.
Children's privacy
CodeAtlas is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information (for example, through the contact form), please email us and we'll remove it.
Third-party links
Some lessons link out to external resources — documentation, tools, or further reading. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy doesn't cover. We're not responsible for the content or privacy practices of external sites we link to.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the site grows — for example, if new advertising or analytics tools are added. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
